This presentation focuses on creating experiences that people love by honing in on three essential aspects: service, design and data. In the talk we’ll consider the importance of explicitly designing the experience, demonstrate the need to focus on the whole, rather than the parts, and explore the impact of design (and that it’s not all about aesthetics).

Ilana is Principal Consultant at Optimal Experience, a strategic user experience (UX), user interface design & usability
consultancy.
Ilana has been engaged in user experience management and consulting for over 20 years. She has worked with a wide variety of corporate and government organizations to help them develop and deliver on their user-centered design strategies, optimize the experiences for their end users, and accomplish their business goals.
Recently, Ilana has been working with large financial services organizations to ensure that the applications being designed are not only usable in their own right, but also that they work together to support and complement the organization’s overall service design goals.
Ilana has a Masters degree in Industrial Psychology from University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.
