Chicago Sept. 2011

The Field Museum Chicago
What you do matters! You may feel the weight of your company’s success on your shoulders because what you do isn’t about a product—it’s about the experience. The successful outcomes of usability research are revolutionary, and affect scores of people in dozens of industries. User experience enthusiasts understand that great experiences lead to customer loyalty, minimize the return of products and aid customer retention.
User Centric’s invited speakers, including keynotes Brad Hirsch, Caesars Entertainment, David Krajicek, GfK Custom Research, Mark Detweiler, Informatica, Inc., and Aga Bojko, User Centric, presented real world examples demonstrating the techniques used to evaluate, design and improve insights into product and services, and ultimately user experiences. The conference theme, ‘what you do matters’ was a fundamental component to all presentations. Speakers touched on trending topics such as healthcare and online banking, discussed techniques including nonverbal cues in research observation and de-biasing interviews, and presented the motivations, challenges, and implications of usability testing and user research.
“Great user experiences are what consumers have come to expect. This has brought UX into focus beyond usability. The UX Masterclass presenters were able to give attendees perspectives that are diverse and crucial to grasping multiple interactions, across a range of touch points and channels.” said Gavin Lew, User Centric Managing Director. “I’m confident attendees have a new outlook on user experience research and walked away thinking ‘what I do has tremendous impact.’”
